MIXED  ABILITY ADULT YOGA

This class is suitable for everyone; from beginners to advanced students.

All students no matter age, gender or ability are very welcome. Yoga offers something for everyone. Each class has a friendly atmosphere. Non-competitiveness and a relaxed approach encourages everyone to work within their personal limits. Modifications are offered. Therefore students can approach their practice in a gentle way or in an advanced manner depending on personal circumstances.

At the end of the class you will feel rested, relaxed, energised & revitalised.

 

Welcoming and Theme Presentation  (3 minutes)

Each class has a theme. Subjects include various aspects of anatomy, breathing techniques and yoga philosophy.

 

Initial Centering (around 5 minutes)

When you enter the class, your mind might still be busy from the experience of the whole day. In order to get the most benefit, centring is essential.

In these 5 minutes you will be lying or sitting on the mat and mentally scanning/checking your physical, emotional and mental state. Discovering and knowing how you feel, will allow you to modify your forthcoming practice accordingly.

 

Warm-Ups and Physical practice of Asanas (60-65 minutes)

Many varieties of asanas are offered. Each class includes static and dynamic poses, which always work with 4 types of spinal movement (flexion, extension, lateral flexion and axial rotation).

Each asana can be modified depending on the individual needs of the student.

 

Breathing Techniques (4/5 minutes)

 

Relaxation sometimes with meditation elements (20 minutes)

 

Practising yoga in a friendly environment like a yoga class, may seem straightforward; however the real test of yoga happens off the mat. Can we integrate what  we have learned, discovered and changed on the mat, with our surroundings? Taking yoga outside the classroom and creating a harmonious relationship with the external world, might be a true challenge, but it may result in a richer and more fulfilling life.
